Home: Welcome

Today is the first day since the start of this pandemic that there have been no deaths as a result of Covid-19 on the Island of Ireland. #Hope🙏🙏🙏

Good morning everyone,

I hope this message finds you safe and healthy during these challenging times we are experiencing.  Since my last message a few weeks ago things have certainly changed and it's becoming clearer now what the long term picture will be for us.  At this time I believe April 30th was the last timeline for closures but with Toronto's decision to continue social distancing for 3 months that may change.  At the end of the day I think we can all understand that decisions will change and we will adapt as we are informed.

So the Irish Centre will remain closed until at least April 30th.  All regular activities (Darts, Seniors Club, Irish Dance and Euchre) are on hold until we open.  For rentals, Brenda continues to communicate with individuals who have booked the Irish Centre to determine next steps.

In the meantime, I want everyone to know that the Irish Centre board and community are here and we want to ensure everyone in our community is managing through this difficult time.  If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  It could be groceries, picking up medications or a chat, we are here for each other so reach out if you need help or can help.

Take care everyone and stay safe.

Regards,

Paula

Irish Flag raising ceremony

Our Story

On St. Patrick's Day the City of Brampton will be raising the Irish flag at City Hall.  The ceremony will take place at Brampton City Hall with a free traditional Irish breakfast following the flag raising.  The Brampton Irish Centre will be represented with a few words from me at the ceremony plus a performance by the Doherty Irish Dancers.  In addition we have a young lad who will be performing Danny Boy during the ceremony.  Please come out and join us at this special celebration.  Here are the details for the morning:
